Now, you don’t actually expect them to give you an exact answer. But an estimate based on how long similar projects take will give you an idea what to expect if you partner with this architecture firm.

Do they have experience in the type of project you are proposing? Some architecture firms specialise in certain areas only.

• Are they interested in taking on your project?

Aside from their experience, try to determine their level of interest in a project such as yours. They should have a passion for the project, not just for the potential business.

• Can you see their portfolio?

A professional architecture firm should have a proper portfolio of their previous projects. Furthermore, they should be proud to share it with you. A portfolio will give you an idea of what style and quality to expect.
